SHOPIAN: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today chaired a meeting of officers to finalise the department wise arrangements to be put in place for Republic Day, 2025 celebrations at the district level. The meeting held threadbare discussions on arrangements to be put in place at the venue including security, seating, parking, heating arrangements, cultural activities, illumination of buildings, refreshments, power supply, public address system and other facilities.

The DC instructed the concerned to organise scintillating cultural programmes to mark the event with vibrancy along with an impactful presentation of March Past and called upon officers to put in place elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the function. On the occasion, department wise responsibilities were finalised for adherence, and directions issued to ensure celebrations at sub divisional & tehsil levels.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz and other district and sectoral officers along with Police, Military & Paramilitary officers. Later, the DC visited District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian to take firsthand appraisal of arrangements for the national event.
