The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com
  • DSEK participates in morning prayer at Higher Secondary School Kokernag, shares joy of school opening with children

SRINAGAR: Following re-opening of schools after months long winter break, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr. G. N. Itoo today participated in morning prayer during the morning assembly of Government Model Higher Secondary School Kokernag in a remote area of Anantnag district and shared the joy of school opening with the children.

On the occasion, the Director School Education Kashmir spoke to the children in their mother tongue and inquired about various activities during the winter vacations. DSEK addressed the teachers and asked them to equip the children with moral education, become role models for the them, and to keep the surrounding environment clean besides protecting water bodies.

Dr. Itoo urged the teachers to provide awareness to the children about the harmful effects of drugs especially on Wednesdays in view of the current challenges of the society and to play their full role in character building of the children. He emphasized that children should use mobile phones properly so that they do not have negative effects on their minds.
