JAMMU: BJP spokesperson Dr. Tahir Choudhary has expressed serious concern over the mysterious deaths of two tribal brothers from Kulgam district and the continued disappearance of a third individual. He strongly urged the administration to expedite the investigation and provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Dr. Choudhary condemned the lack of official communication from the police regarding the tragic incident.
"It is deeply concerning that no clear statement has been issued by the police even days after the recovery of two bodies. The whereabouts of the third missing youth, Mukhtar Ahmad, remain unknown, adding to the anguish of the affected families," he said. Calling for a swift and impartial probe, Dr. Choudhary stressed the need to ensure transparency in the investigation.
"The families deserve answers, and those responsible for this tragedy must be held accountable. I urge the Lieutenant Governor's administration to prioritize this case, expedite the ongoing investigation, and ensure justice is delivered without delay," he added. Dr. Choudhary also condemned the alleged misconduct by a police officer during protests in Devsar. "Reports of a DySP misbehaving with a woman protester are extremely disturbing. Such actions tarnish the image of our law enforcement agencies, and strict action must be taken against those involved," he asserted.
The BJP leader urged the people of Kulgam and Jammu to maintain peace and cooperate with the authorities. He assured the tribal community that the BJP would stand with them and support their demand for justice. "The loss of innocent lives and the disappearance of a young man demand immediate action. The administration must leave no stone unturned in ensuring a fair and transparent investigation," Dr. Choudhary said.
