SRINAGAR: The Planning and Publicity Division of J&K Forest Department organized a one-day workshop on ornithology and plant taxonomy skills at Sheikhbagh Forest Complex, Srinagar. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of forest officials in the fields of bird identification and plant taxonomy.
Irfan Rasool Wani, Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Kashmir, was the chief guest at the workshop. Resource persons in the fields of ornithology and plant taxonomy delivered lectures and shared their expertise with the participants. The workshop covered various topics, including bird identification, habitat assessment, and plant taxonomy. The experts provided hands-on training and demonstrations to help participants develop their skills in these areas.
Speaking on the occasion, CCF Kashmir Irfan Rasool Wani emphasized the importance of ornithology and plant taxonomy in forest conservation and management. He encouraged the participants to apply their knowledge and skills in the field to contribute to the conservation of J&K's rich biodiversity.
The workshop was attended by Tawheed Ahmad Deva, Conservator of Forests, Srinagar Circle, Intesar Suhail, Wildlife Warden North, Mudasir Mehmood, DFO Anantnag, besides 42 forest officials participating from various Forest Divisions across the Kashmir Region gained crucial knowledge and enhanced their capacity.
