POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal convened a meeting today to review the progress of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in the district. The initiative is designed to empower artisans and craftsmen by providing essential training, modern tools, and market linkages.
At the outset, the General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) presented a comprehensive overview of the achievements. The Deputy Commissioner inquired about the individuals benefited at the Gram Panchayat and District levels, emphasizing timeboud clearance of pending applications. The Lead Bank Manager was asked to expedite the clearance of pendencies at all branches.
Additionally, the meeting assessed block-wise pending applications, with all Block Development Officers (BDOs) participating virtually to provide updates from their respective areas. Stress was laid on mass awareness to rope in maximum number of artisans. The meeting was attended by the PO ICDS, ACR, ACP, LDM, Principal of Polytechnic College, BDOs, Superintendents of ITI Poonch and Mendhar, among others.
