JAMMU: The Director General of Income Tax, North West Region, Smt. Vatsala Jha, IRS (1992), graced the Income Tax Office of the Investigation Wing at Jammu to celebrate the 166th Income Tax Day. With jurisdiction over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, Smt. Vatsala Jha conveyed a message of honesty, commitment, integrity, and efficiency to the officers of the Income Tax Department.
The officers were directed to uphold the principles of taxpayer service and facilitation, with a focus on the expansion of the tax base in Jammu and Kashmir. The Principal Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Ludhiana, Dr. Ashish Abrol, IRS, and the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (Central), Ludhiana, Sh. Md. Tarique Kalim, IRS, were also present and encouraged the officers to administer the Income Tax Act in a fair and transparent manner. The Additional Director of Jammu Investigation, Sh. Anand Swaroop, and the Deputy Director of Jammu Investigation were also present at the venue.
