JAMMU: BJP SC Morcha led by its President Dharminder Kumar (DDC Bishnah) carried out a plantation drive under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada celebrations dedicated to the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at Baba Da Talab, Marh.

BJP J&K President Sat Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. BJP Vice-President and DDC Chairman Jammu Bharat Bhushan, General Secretary Gopal Mahajan, Former Minister Sukhnandan Choudhary, District President BJP Jammu North Nand Kishore Sharma, DDCs Vidhya Mottan, Balbir Lal, Karan Attri, Vikas Choudhary, Mohinder Bhagat, Seema Devi, G.R. Bhagat, Hans Raj Lohria, Lokesh Bhagat, Rahul Hans, Vandana Kumari, Bubneshwer Mehta, Deepak Pandey, Dr. Nirmal Singh (President, Baba Jitto Committee), prominent citizens, and enthusiastic locals were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the environment. He said that planting trees is the best tribute we can offer to our mothers and our nation. He urged everyone to plant as many trees as possible to save our environment from pollution and to safeguard our future generations from natural calamities. He added that the small steps taken today will create a greener and healthier tomorrow.

Sharma also distributed about 500 saplings of various species among the people present, encouraging them to actively participate in the campaign and asked them to protect the saplings later as well.

Bharat Bhushan highlighted the long-term vision of the campaign. He said that this drive is not just about planting trees but about nurturing them. He said that the aim is to create a sustainable green cover that will benefit generations to come.

Gopal Mahajan stated that such initiatives inspire community participation. We are proud that the party is taking this message to every nook and corner of the Union Territory, he said.

Sukhnandan Choudhary said that this campaign call by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji combines emotional appeal with a call to action, inspiring citizens to contribute to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable world.

Dharminder Kumar said that “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” is a heartfelt initiative of BJP to blend environmental responsibility with our cultural values. He said that it reflects our commitment both to nature and culture.
