POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma chaired a meeting in his office chamber today to deliberate upon and finalize the stamp duty rates in the district.
As the discussion ensued, the Revenue Officers provided a comprehensive analysis of the existing stamp duty rates and apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the percentage of hike proposed in different areas under their respective jurisdictions.
They also presented detailed justifications for the proposed increase in stamp duty rates. A threadbare discussion was held on the valuation rates received from the rural and urban areas of the District.
The discussion ensured a fair and equitable determination of stamp duty rates that reflect the prevailing market dynamics and property values in different regions of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of striking a balance between the need for revenue generation and the overall well-being of the residents.
He stressed that the revised stamp duty rates should be reasonable and reflective of the market conditions, while also considering the socio-economic factors impacting the local population.
The Deputy Commissioner further highlighted the significance of stamp duty as a crucial source of revenue for the government, enabling it to undertake various developmental initiatives for the welfare of the inhabitants of the district.
Elaborate deliberations were held during the meeting, along with the insights shared by the attending officers, which will pave the way for a fair, transparent and judicious determination of stamp duty rates that will benefit all stakeholders involved.
