RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today chaired the meeting of Multi-Departmental District Level Task Force Cell (MDDLTFC) to review the enforcement measures initiated against illegal mining and regulate the supply of minor minerals. He sought the reports in respect of six suspended minor mineral blocks/leases whose operations were halted due to the expiry of environmental clearances and are under consideration for further extension to resume legal mining operations.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for strict inter-departmental coordination to effectively check and prevent illegal mining activities across the district. He directed for setting up integrated nakas by the Police, Mining, Forest and Excise & Taxation Departments to ensure regular monitoring of transportation and extraction of minor minerals.
To strengthen ground-level enforcement, the DC instructed to constitute tehsil-level committees under the supervision of Tehsildars and Police Officers, who will oversee naka operations and ensure strict compliance with mining norms. Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Sikarwar, assured full cooperation and logistical support from the Police Department in maintaining close watch and assisting other departments in the enforcement drives against illegal mining.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Malikzada Sheraz ul Haq, ADC Kalakote Tanvir Ahmed, ADC Kotranka Dilmir Chowdhary, ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, ADC Sunderbani Ramkesh Sharma, SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain, DFO Naveed Mughal, DMO Shafiq Ahmed, Divisional Officer PCC and other district and sectoral officers.
