• Stresses Priority Sector Lending, Implementation of Job-Oriented Schemes

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to evaluate the performance of banks and review the implementation of the credit schemes in the district, with a special focus on the Priority Sector.

The meeting was attended by ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; ACD Shrinath Suman; GM DIC Ravinder Kumar; Lead District Officer RBI Anil Kumar; LDM Davinder Singh; Director RSETI S. Harvinder Singh; DDM NABARD, and district officers including CAO, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, AD FCS&CA, Dy. Registrar Cooperatives, BDOs, bankers and other senior officials.

During the meeting, it was informed that the district's Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio has improved by 1.36%, reaching 67.12% as on March 31, 2025. An amount of â‚¹407.30 crore has been spent under the Priority Sector, achieving 51% of the â‚¹551.38 crore Annual Credit Plan (ACP) target. The Non-Priority Sector saw a credit outlay of â‚¹455.69 crore.

DC Khan emphasized the need to prioritize job-oriented schemes, farmer welfare initiatives, and sectors such as agriculture, education, housing, and social infrastructure. He directed bankers to work in close coordination with all line departments for better implementation of schemes and service delivery. The DC instructed banks to organize weekly awareness camps at the Panchayat level and monthly camps at the Block level to sensitize the public about various financial schemes and services.

Calling for swift processing of loan cases under MUMKIN, TEJASWANI, PMEGP, PM VISHWAKARMA, and KCC, the DC stressed on timely benefits to local youth. He also reviewed the implementation of PMMY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY schemes in the district.

Highlighting the importance of employment generation, the DC instructed Bankers and Departments to adopt a structured approach for achieving 100% performance under all government-sponsored schemes. He also emphasized the need to enhance market-relevant training, increase the number of eligible cases, and ensure financial and marketing linkages to empower the unemployed youth. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also released the Annual Activity Report 2024–25 of RSETI Ramban.
