REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik today convened a meeting with officers of line departments to review the ongoing relief, rescue, rehabilitation and restoration measures following rain-induced damages across the district. During the meeting, the DC took detailed feedback from the concerned officers on the extent of damages, rescue operations, relief distribution, rehabilitation efforts, restoration of essential services, losses to infrastructure and the immediate steps taken on ground.

The DC held a sub-division wise review of road connectivity, power restoration and water supply. The Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) briefed about the damages in their respective jurisdictions. She directed them to fast-track all restoration works, with special focus on restoring essential services to the public.

Highlighting the plight of displaced persons in Sarh and Jameslan in Mahore due to land sinking, the DC informed that relief camps are being established at Jameslan and Sarh, where adequate relief material is being provided. She instructed the SDM Mahore to ensure that all necessary facilities are made available to the affected families in these camps.

The DC also took stock of crop and allied sector damages and emphasized the need for timely assessment and submission of detailed reports, so that relief and restoration measures can be expedited. Calling for close inter-departmental coordination, DC Nidhi Malik directed all departments to work in synergy to ensure prompt relief and early restoration of normalcy in the affected areas. ADC Reasi Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, ACR Reasi, XENs of PWD, PMGSY, PHE, CMO, CEO and other concerned were present.
