- Stresses 100% estimation within one week, expediting allotment and tendering process
POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review the status of new works taken up under the District Capex Budget and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the financial year 2025-26.
The functionaries of concerned departments presented the progress and status of new projects. It was informed that a total of 2521 works have been proposed under the District Capex Budget, out of which 2383 works have received Administrative Approval (AA) and 170 works have already been allotted. The works span across Irrigation, Roads & Buildings (R&B), Rural Engineering Wing (REW), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (JPDCL) and Ground Water Division Jammu.
The District Development Commissioner laid strong emphasis on ensuring 100% estimation of all proposed works within a week, particularly directing the Executive Engineer, REW Poonch to prioritize and expedite the process. He also directed all departments to accelerate the allotment of remaining works in a time-bound manner to ensure timely execution.
In addition, DDC reviewed the status of works under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for 2025-26the meeting was informed that a total of 244 works are proposed under the CDF across all three constituencies. Of these, estimations for 144 works have been received, and 102 works have been accorded administrative approval. The DDC instructed officers to ensure 100% estimation under CDF at the earliest and to initiate the tendering process without delay.
The District Development Commissioner underlined the importance of timely administrative procedures to ensure smooth execution of developmental works aimed at improving public infrastructure and services across the district.
