• Proposals realistic, farmer-centric, aligned with rising input costs: DC

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting of the District Level Technical Committee (DLTC) in his office chamber to revise and finalise the Scale of Finance (SoF) for various crops and allied sectors for the financial year 2026–27.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on revising crop-wise financial norms in view of prevailing input costs and emerging agricultural requirements. The committee deliberated extensively on cost escalations related to fertilizers, fodder, manure, labour and other essential inputs affecting agriculture and allied activities in the district.

After comprehensive discussions, the Deputy Commissioner approved the revised Scale of Finance for various sectors including Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries for the financial year 2026–27.

Seeking sector-wise inputs from concerned officers, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to realistically assess the increased cost of cultivation and allied activities. He stressed that the revised SoF must be practical, farmer-centric and reflective of ground realities.

While reviewing the proposed sector-wise Scale of Finance, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the revised norms should effectively support credit planning, facilitate institutional financing and ultimately benefit farmers and cultivators across the district.
