GHAGWAL: Government Degree College, Ghagwal organized a Plantation Drive to mark Sewa Parv and Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations. The drive was held under the patronage of the College Principal Dr. Sujata Slathia and spearheaded by Dr. Shivani Sharma, Convenor of Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations. The programme received active support from NSS Program Officer, Dr. Vani Awasthi with cooperation extended by Prof. Vijay Kumar and Dr. Bavita Bhagat.
During the drive, around 30 saplings were planted by students and staff members on the College Campus. The event emphasized the Gandhian values of harmony with nature, collective responsibility and community service.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal lauded the efforts of the organizers and participants, highlighting that such initiatives not only enhance the green cover but also inspire the younger generation to contribute towards a sustainable and cleaner environment. The programme concluded with a pledge by students and faculty to nurture the planted saplings and continue similar eco-friendly practices in the future.
