BUDGAM: The Social Forestry Department, Budgam, in collaboration with the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), today successfully conducted a plantation drive under the theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" at Salsabeel Educational Institute, Humhama, Budgam. The event marked a significant step towards promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices among the youth.The plantation drive was graced by several esteemed guests, including Mr. G N Var, President of Private School's Association Jammu & Kashmir (PSAJK), who served as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Dr. Hussain Shah, Chief Agriculture Scientist and Environmentalist, who was the Guest of Honour.

The event also witnessed active participation from notable figures such as Mr. Mohd Maqbool Lone, Range Forest Officer, Budgam, Mr. Abdul Majeed Parray from the Social Forestry Department,  Education Department Official Damesh Singh , Health Department Official Dr. Ravinder Singh, Vice Principal of JK Public School Iqbal Javid,  Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Principal of Salsabeel Educational Institute, and others.The occasion saw the enthusiastic involvement of the school's teachers and students, who together pledged to contribute towards creating a greener environment.

An oath ceremony followed the plantation drive, where participants committed to continuing efforts in tree planting and environmental conservation.PSAJK President G N Var, said that "Today’s plantation drive under the theme 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' is not just about planting trees; it's about planting hope for a sustainable future. Every tree we plant today is a step towards a healthier environment for the generations to come. I am immensely proud of the collaboration between PSAJK and the Social Forestry Department, which has enabled this impactful initiative."Range Officer, Budgam Mohammadd Maqbool Lone said that  "The Social Forestry Department is dedicated to increasing green cover across Budgam.

The collaboration with PSAJK for the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative has strengthened our mission, and we are pleased with the active participation of the school community."Chief Agriculture Scientist & Environmentalist  Prof. Dr. Hussain Shah said that "As stewards of the earth, it is our responsibility to nurture and protect our environment. The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative beautifully encapsulates the essznce of our duty towards Mother Nature.

I commend the Social Forestry Department and PSAJK for this noble endeavor."MSF Budgam Abdul Majeed Parray said that "This drive is a testament to the power of community involvement in environmental conservation. Each tree planted today represents our collective effort to combat climate change and ensure a better world for our children."Principal of Salsabeel Educational Institute Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat said that  "We are honored to host this significant event at our institute. The participation of our students and staff in this plantation drive reflects our collective commitment to environmental stewardship.

We hope to continue fostering a culture of sustainability in our educational practices."Health Department Official Dr. Ravinder Singh said that "Planting trees is not just an environmental necessity, but also a health imperative. Green spaces are vital for physical and mental well-being, and I applaud this initiative for promoting a healthier future."Education Department Official Damesh Singh said that "Education and environmental awareness go hand in hand.

This plantation drive is an excellent example of how educational institutions can lead by example in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility."Vice Principal of JK Public School Iqbal Javid said that "Today's event serves as a powerful reminder that each of us has a role to play in preserving the environment.
