ANANTNAG: Continuing its drive against illegal mining activities, Police in Anantnag seized two vehicles (one dumper and one tractor) found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from the area.
The vehicles were intercepted by a police team from Police Station Achabal during routine checking. Upon verification, both vehicles were found engaged in illegal mining activity, in violation of existing mining and environmental laws. Accordingly, cases under the relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Achabal, and further investigation has been set into motion.
The general public is once again advised to refrain from indulging in illegal mining or transportation of minerals. Such activities not only cause ecological damage but also attract strict legal action.
