RAMBAN: As part of the ongoing celebrations marking 150 glorious years of India’s National Song ‘Vande Mataram’, the District Administration Ramban, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Alyas Khan, conducted a plantation drive themed – Salute to Mother Earth.
The plantation drives were conducted at different locations, symbolizing reverence to Bharat Mata. Each sapling, planted by the Forest Department in collaboration with other departments and colleges, represented a living tribute to the spirit of Vande Mataram.
Special morning assemblies themed on National Pride and Unity were held at GMHSS Ramban, GHSS Dhandrath and PM Shri HS Jhatgalli, while painting competitions on the theme of Patriotism and Vande Mataram were organized. Students at GHS Dhalwas, Zone Batote, watched documentary films on freedom fighters, deepening their understanding of India’s struggle for independence.
A major plantation drive was also conducted by Forest Division Ramban at Lamber Banihal and Railway Station Park Banihal. The event graced by SDM Banihal, Mohammad Naseeb Bajran and Station Master Banihal Mr. Bali, saw enthusiastic participation from officers and employees of the Forest Department and Forest Protection Force.
The drive concluded with renewed community spirit and commitment—uniting the patriotic fervour of Vande Mataram with the promise of a greener, more sustainable district Ramban.
