BANDIPORA: As part of its ongoing efforts to eradicate drug-related activities from the region, Police in Bandipora carried out a large-scale destruction drive targeting the illegal cultivation of Bhung (wild cannabis) and other narcotic plants at multiple locations across the district.

Police teams from various Police Stations and Police Posts under the leadership of their respective jurisdictional officers launched coordinated operations in areas falling under their jurisdiction. The teams successfully destroyed wild Bhung crops spread across several kanals of land. The drive was aimed at ensuring complete eradication of illicit plantations and curbing the source of narcotic substances at its roots.

J&K Police have reiterated their commitment to building a drug-free society and have once again appealed to the public to cooperate by reporting any instances of illegal cultivation or drug peddling in their surroundings. Authorities have warned that individuals found involved in such activities will face strict legal action as per the law.
