AWANTIPORA: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Awantipora have seized five vehicles and arrested five persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
A Police party of Police Post Toll Plaza under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora, seized five vehicles (tippers) bearing registration numbers JK04E-4050, JK03H-0528, JK05G-4579, JK22A-8351 and JK13F 4792 and arrested their drivers identified as Zubair Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Ibrahim Wani resident of Pahroo Budgam, Mohd Aasif Khan son of Gh Hussain Khan resident of Boniyar Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmad Ganai son of Assadulah Ganie resident of Pahroo Budgam, Irfan Ahmad Dar son of Gh Qadir Dar resident of Pahroo Budgam and Shakeel Ahmad Khan son of Ab Aziz Khan resident of Boniyar Baramulla.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 163/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
