PULWAMA: Police in Pulwama seized several vehicles involved in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals across the district. Acting swiftly, police teams seized two tippers bearing registration numbers JK04B 3749 and JK03B 8076 at Wanpora. A case under FIR No. 268/2025 has been registered at Police Station Pulwama under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is underway.
In a similar operation, another dumper carrying illegally extracted materials was intercepted at Khamry Crossing. The vehicle, bearing registration number JK04G 7769, was seized, and a separate case under FIR No. 116/2025 has been registered at Police Station Rajpora. Investigation in this case has also been initiated.
J&K Police reaffirmed their determination to dismantle networks involved in illegal mining and safeguard the district’s natural resources from exploitation. The department has urged the public to cooperate by reporting such activities to the nearest police station for prompt action.
