UDHAMPUR/JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir led by J&K BJP President Sat Sharma and General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul held multiple tree plantation drives across the Union Territory, as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada programmes being organized to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The campaign, titled “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, symbolizes respect towards mothers while spreading awareness about the need for environmental conservation. At Udhampur, Sat Sharma led a major plantation programme in the presence of MLAs R.S. Pathania, Pawan Sharma, Balwant Singh Mankotia, and other senior leaders. A large number of party activists and locals enthusiastically participated in the drive, pledging their support to the cause of environmental protection.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma underlined the importance of collective responsibility in preserving nature. He said that planting trees is the best tribute we can offer to our mothers and our nation. He termed it as our duty to contribute to the environment by taking such small yet impactful steps. He urged everyone to plant as many trees as possible, as this will not only save us from pollution but also safeguard future generations from natural calamities. The small efforts made today will lead to a greener and healthier tomorrow, he said.
Sharma further said that through such initiatives, BJP J&K reiterated its resolve to contribute towards a clean, green, and sustainable environment while celebrating the life and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ashok Koul emphasized that the plantation drive is not only an act of environmental care but also reflects the larger vision of the BJP-led government. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has remained committed to grassroots development and environmental sustainability. He said that the initiatives like Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam reinforce the message that development and ecology can go hand in hand, ensuring long-term progress for the nation.
