SAMBA: The Educational Institutions across District Samba carried out plantation and cleanliness drives under the ongoing Sewa Parv 2025, to promote environmental awareness.
A Plantation and Cleanliness drive was organized at Government Primary School Papar Avtara, encouraging students and staff to actively participate in creating a greener and cleaner school environment. Similarly, a plantation drive was held by MC Bari Brahmana, reinforcing the importance of green initiatives at the community level.
As part of the Green School Campus campaign, students and staff took a pledge at Shaheed Havaldar Roshan Lal Govt High School Nichla, GGHSS Samba, GMS Kour Salarian, GHSS Birpur and GHSS Purmandal to protect the environment, adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute to sustainable practices in their schools. HS Rehian also held an assembly where students pledged for a greener school campus.
Additionally, plantation activities were conducted at Government School Dhalli, and day-to-day waste collection and cleanliness drives continued across Block Ghagwal, reinforcing the spirit of civic responsibility among students and community members.
Additionally, multiple awareness and developmental activities were carried out across the District, promoting health, civic awareness, fitness and environmental sustainability.
An awareness camp for marginalized families was organized at the Tehsil Supply Office Vijaypur, focusing on ration card inclusion and exclusion norms. Participants were informed about eligibility criteria, required documentation and the process for updating ration cards. Beneficiaries’ queries were addressed to ensure transparency and smooth facilitation.
An awareness camp was organised at Bari Brahmana to sensitise citizens about Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY). They were informed about the procedure of filing applications and documents required for the same.
As part of public outreach, the Animal Husbandry Department conducted an awareness programme, promoting departmental schemes. The initiative also included the distribution of essential medicines for livestock health. The citizens were briefed on the benefits and procedures of the schemes, empowering them to adopt better animal husbandry practices.
Schools across the district actively participated in Sewa Parv celebrations. At GHS Gurha Slathia, an Inter-school sports meet was conducted to promote fitness and teamwork among students. An awareness rally on environmental conservation was also organized, highlighting the importance of a clean and green environment. Govt. High School Jatwal also hosted a sports meet, encouraging students to take part in physical activities and inculcate sportsmanship.
