ANANTNAG: The Social Forestry Division Anantnag today organised an Autumn Plantation Drive and Awareness Programme at the scenic tourist spot of Chattabal, Shangus.
On the occasion, DFO Social Forestry Division Anantnag, Gazala Abdullah, along with students of GHSS Chaklipora, planted saplings along the picturesque hillsides of Chattabal, giving a fresh boost to the green cover of the area.
Following the plantation drive, an awareness programme was held to highlight the implementation of new schemes under the Social Forestry Division and to sensitize participants about the rights and duties of forest dwellers.
Besides, representatives of the local tribal population actively participated in the event and shared their perspectives on forest development, conservation, and their vital role in protecting natural resources. Range Officer Social Forestry Division Kokernag, concerned Forester, and other officials of the department also attended the program.
