DODA: In a significant achievement, the district administration Doda, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, successfully removed a 40-year-old encroachment on the land belonging to the District Information Centre (DIC). The step was taken following intensive efforts by the administration to reclaim the public property and ensure its rightful use.

The issue came to light when the newly appointed District Information Officer (DIO), Nasir Ahmed Khan, took the initiative to address the longstanding encroachment. Upon learning about the matter, he promptly approached the Deputy Commissioner, highlighting the urgency of the situation. Acknowledging the importance of the issue, the DC directed the Revenue Department, through Tehsildar Doda, to investigate and take immediate action to restore the encroached land.

Land encroachment was retrieved by the District Information Centre, Revenue Department, and Municipal Council through their collective efforts. Following the directives, the Revenue Department, in coordination with the concerned officials, undertook swift measures to reclaim the land. This decisive action marks a milestone in upholding transparency and accountability in governance, ensuring that public assets are safeguarded for their intended purposes.

The removal of encroachment paves the way for the optimal utilization of the District Information Centre land, which can now be used to enhance communication and outreach activities. The district administration has reiterated its commitment to addressing similar issues and ensuring the proper management of public properties in the future.
