JAMMU: The Fertilizer Quality Control Laboratory (FQCL), Jammu, Directorate of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, has achieved a significant milestone with the renewal of its NABL accreditation for a further period of four years, up to August 2030.
The renewal has been granted by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) following a satisfactory assessment of the laboratory’s compliance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the internationally recognized standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
The laboratory was assessed by a team of NABL assessors on August 1 and 2, 2026. During the two-day assessment, the assessors thoroughly reviewed the laboratory’s documentation and quality management system, infrastructure, equipment, technical procedures, quality standards, records and technical competence of laboratory personnel. The laboratory was found satisfactory and in conformity with the applicable requirements.
The renewed Certificate of Accreditation No. NABLT0926JK19415 is valid from August 12, 2026 to August 11, 2030. The revised scope of accreditation covers Chemical Testing of Neem Coated Urea under the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), 1985 including Biuret Content, Moisture Content, Oil Content, Particle Size and Total Nitrogen. The formal decision regarding renewal was conveyed by NABL vide communication dated September 15, 2026, confirming the renewal of accreditation based on the satisfactory assessment and corrective action submitted by the laboratory.
Today, the renewed NABL Accreditation Certificate was presented to Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta, by Agriculture Chemist Jammu, Roshan Lal Bhagat and Assistant Bio-Chemist Jammu, Deepak Singh in the presence of analysts and supporting staff of FQCL Jammu. The certificate presentation programme was attended by Analysts Pardeep Bhatia, Pooja Kour, Aparna Ganjoo, Babarpreet Singh and Sanjeev Gupta, besides supporting staff Virinder Gupta and Narayan Vishal.
