PURMANDAL: Under the  leadership of BJP Mahila Morcha J&K President Adv. Neha Mahajan, BJP Mahila Morcha JKUT organised a comprehensive awareness programme on Plantation, Conservation of Fuel, and Reduction in Edible Oil Consumption at Jammu Public School, Khara Madana, Purmandal Block.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and BJP J&K President  Sat Sharma CA as the Chief Guest. BJP J&K Secretary  Arun Sharma, former Sarpanch  Anil Kumar, and former DDC  Avtar Singh were also prominently present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma CA lauded the efforts of BJP Mahila Morcha for taking up socially relevant initiatives that combine environmental protection with public awareness. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, stating that tree plantation is not merely an environmental activity but an emotional commitment towards nature and future generations. He urged citizens, especially students, to actively participate in conservation efforts, adopt sustainable lifestyles, reduce wastage of resources, and contribute towards building a cleaner, greener, and healthier India. He emphasized that every planted tree is an investment in the nation's future and a tribute to our mothers and Mother Earth.

Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Neha Mahajan, President BJP Mahila Morcha J&K, said that environmental conservation has become a collective responsibility and that awareness at the grassroots level is essential for creating lasting change. She stressed the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices, conserving fuel, reducing excessive consumption of edible oils for better health, and encouraging plantation activities under the inspiring campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.” She appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and teachers and stated that such initiatives help inculcate values of environmental responsibility and healthy living among the youth.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students who delivered speeches, presented poems, and performed skits highlighting the significance of tree plantation, environmental protection, and sustainable living. Their performances conveyed powerful messages on preserving nature and inspired everyone present to contribute towards a greener future.

The event was successfully conducted in the presence of BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretaries Geeta Bhagat and Poonam Gupta, Mandal President Narinder, Mahila Morcha Mandal President Preeti, Prabhari  Veenu Khanna, Seh Prabhari Shailja Gupta, Neeru Anand, Suman Raina, Geetanjali, Arti, Chakshu, Meenakshi, Snehlata, Shallu Gupta, Shakti, Parveen, Monika, members of the Mahila Morcha Purmandal Team and other party functionaries.

The programme concluded with a plantation drive and a collective pledge to protect the environment, conserve natural resources, adopt healthier lifestyles, and strengthen the spirit of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
