DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Krishan Lal today chaired a review meeting to assess progress of ongoing development projects being executed across the district by various departments.
The DDC reviewed physical and financial progress of works under different sectors and sought updates from officers concerned on implementation status. He also directed the officers to adhere the prescribed timelines and quality standards in the execution of all development works.
Reviewing heritage development projects, officers informed the chair that six such works are currently under execution including four in Bhaderwah and two in Thathri. The DDC directed executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe.
On works being executed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI), departments concerned were instructed to remove bottlenecks, strengthen coordination and complete all sanctioned works within prescribed timelines.
Reviewing the recent flood situation, the DDC assessed the condition of affected areas and directed departments concerned to ensure prompt clearance of debris, restoration of drinking water supply and early restoration of electricity in impacted localities.
The progress of works being undertaken by the Jal Shakti Department and Power Development Department (PDD) was also reviewed. Officers concerned were directed to closely monitor execution of works, ensure quality and resolve issues hampering progress. The DDC directed that all development works be carried out with transparency, accountability and strict adherence to approved specifications.
Among those present were Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Doda, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), PMGSY and Jal Shakti Department, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) and other officers concerned.
