The Survival Fight of JK Monitor: For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.). His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

GANDERBAL: As part of the mass Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM) initiative spearheaded by Dr. G.N. Itoo, Director School Education Kashmir, a vibrant PTM was organised at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Kullan, Sonamarg, witnessing enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and students.

The event was attended by Rifat Jabeen, Additional Secretary Legal, DSEK, as the chief guest. She interacted extensively with parents and students, listening attentively to their feedback, suggestions, and grievances. Her approachable and empathetic demeanour created an atmosphere of trust and openness, enabling participants to share their concerns freely.

The discussions focused on enhancing learning outcomes, improving school infrastructure, and fostering a stronger parent–teacher partnership to support the holistic development of students. Several issues were addressed constructively on the spot, reflecting the initiative’s commitment to responsive and inclusive educational governance.

Speaking on the occasion, Rifat Jabeen highlighted the importance of regular communication between schools and parents, noting that such interactions not only address academic matters but also contribute to shaping responsible and confident young citizens.

The School Education Department Kashmir commended the active participation and reiterated its resolve to continue organising such mass PTMs across the Valley to ensure every stakeholder’s voice is heard and acted upon.
