PULWAMA: Continuing its sustained efforts under the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police in Pulwama carried out a series of preventive and enforcement measures across the district to curb the drug menace.

As part of the campaign, a police party of Police Post Rahmoo conducted a wild cannabis destruction drive at Thokerpora and Mirgund, where wild cannabis  along the roadside was identified and destroyed on the spot with the active participation of Revenue officials and local residents. In  another operation, a police party of Police Post Newa, in coordination with Revenue officials, the Numberdar, volunteers, members of the Auqaf Committee, and media representatives, conducted a wild cannabis destruction drive at Wanpora, where wild cannabis plants grown on Government land were identified and destroyed to prevent their misuse and curb the availability of narcotic substances.

Moreover, a police party of Police Station Kakapora conducted inspections of local medical shops to ensure compliance with the prescribed norms governing the sale of medicines and to curb the illegal sale of habit-forming prescription drugs.
