JAMMU: The Directorate of Rural Sanitation, J&K, conducted a state-level capacity-building training on the Gobardhan Scheme under SBM-G to accelerate biogas plant installation. The virtual session on March 5, 2025, chaired by Director General Rural Sanitation, Anoo Malhotra, aimed at equipping officials with technical knowledge to effectively implement the scheme.
Renowned Environmental and Biogas Expert, Dr. Sameer Sharma, led the training, covering scheme objectives and national significance, technical aspects of biogas plant installation, operation and maintenance best practices and KVIC model presentation with data and technical drawings.
âThis training is crucial for building the capacity of our officers to implement the Gobardhan Scheme efficiently,â said Anoo Malhotra. The Gobardhan Scheme, a Government of India initiative, focuses on converting cattle dung and agricultural waste into biogas and bio-fertiliser, promoting clean energy and additional income for rural communities.
