DODA: Director Health Services, Jammu (DHSJ), Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar today visited Primary Health Centre (PHC) Assar to review the functioning of healthcare services and assess the status of infrastructure and patient care facilities. The visit was aimed at ensuring effective implementation of health programmes and strengthening primary healthcare delivery.

During the visit, the Director inspected various sections of the PHC, including Out Patient Department (OPD), labour room, pharmacy, immunization services and diagnostic facilities. The availability and stock position of essential drugs, medical equipment and logistics were also reviewed. Emphasis was laid on maintaining cleanliness, proper biomedical waste management and adherence to standard operating procedures.

The Director interacted with medical officers, paramedical staff and patients to get first-hand feedback regarding the quality of services being provided. The staff was advised to ensure timely attendance, patient-friendly services, proper record maintenance and prompt referral of critical cases. Directions were issued to further improve service delivery, strengthen emergency preparedness and ensure uninterrupted healthcare services to the local population.

The Director Health also reviewed the implementation of various national health programmes and stressed the need for effective community outreach, awareness activities and optimal utilization of available resources. Officers concerned were directed to address gaps observed during the inspection and take necessary corrective measures for further improvement of healthcare facilities at PHC Assar.
