KATHUA: The Management School, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu successfully organized a two-day workshop on “Entrepreneurship Basics: Learn, Build and Simulate a Business”. The workshop was aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial thinking, innovation and practical business understanding among students.

The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Dheeraj Handoo, District Nodal Officer, Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Kathua. Mr. Handoo delivered highly engaging and insightful sessions, where he discussed the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, the process of idea generation, business model development, value added and the importance of innovation and risk-taking in today’s dynamic business environment.

The workshop was conducted in an interactive and experiential learning format, incorporating business mind games, role plays, case studies, group discussions, business simulations, which made the sessions extremely lively and practical. The hands-on approach helped students connect theoretical concepts with real-world business scenarios. Students participated with great enthusiasm and actively engaged in all activities. Their energetic involvement and curiosity reflected a strong interest in entrepreneurship and start-up culture, making the workshop both impactful and memorable.

Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such workshops in empowering students with entrepreneurial skills, self-reliance and problem-solving abilities. He highlighted that exposure to practical business learning plays a vital role in shaping future entrepreneurs and leaders.

Dr. Rajani Sarangal, Convenor and In-Charge Head, The Management School, Kathua Campus, stated that the workshop was organized to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices. She expressed confidence that such initiatives significantly contribute to skill development, confidence building and career readiness among students.

The workshop began with a warm welcome and anchoring by Dr. Surekha Phakwrya, who formally introduced the resource person and set the tone for the sessions. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Rajani Sarangal, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, organizers, faculty members and students for their active participation and support. The event was also graced by the presence of Dr. Pankaj Khajuria, Assistant Registrar, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, whose presence added significance to the occasion. The event was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Ritu Sharma and Ms. Princee Verma, whose dedicated efforts ensured the successful planning and execution of the workshop.
