AKHNOOR: BJP Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary and In-Charge of Budget Janjagran Abhiyan, Baldev Singh Billawaria, addressed a press conference at the BJP District Office in Akhnoor, where he sturdily welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing media persons, Billawaria described the Union Budget as a forward-looking, people-centric and growth-oriented budget that will accelerate India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat, self-reliance, and inclusive development. He said the budget reflects the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the economy while ensuring direct benefits to the common man.
Billawaria emphasized that the opposition has been left with no grounds to mislead people this time, as the Modi government has not imposed any additional tax burden on the middle class. Instead, the government has introduced multiple relief measures aimed at increasing disposable income and reducing financial stress on salaried employees and small taxpayers. “This budget focuses on empowering the middle class by enhancing income opportunities, controlling inflationary pressures, and improving the overall quality of life,” he added.
Highlighting key features of the Union Budget 2026–27, Billawaria said that major thrust has been given to infrastructure development, housing, MSMEs, startups, women empowerment, youth employment, and social welfare schemes. Increased allocation for road connectivity, urban infrastructure, and rural development will directly benefit border and remote regions like Jammu & Kashmir. He also welcomed the enhanced support for agriculture, skill development, digital economy, healthcare, and education, which will strengthen grassroots growth and employment generation.
The BJP leader further said that special focus on entrepreneurship, MSME credit support, ease of doing business, and self-employment initiatives will create new economic opportunities for youth and small traders in the Union Territory.
On the occasion, District Akhnoor President Kuldeep Sharma expressed gratitude to all BJP activists, party functionaries, prominent citizens, and media persons who participated in the interaction and supported the Budget Janjagran Abhiyan. He said their presence and cooperation play a crucial role in taking the achievements of the Modi government to the grassroots.
Prominent leaders present during the press conference included BJP Jammu & Kashmir spokesperson Zorawar Singh Jamwal, DDC Suraj Singh, and Bhushan Bral, who also endorsed the pro-people vision of the Union Budget.
