JAMMU: Senior leadership of BJP Kargil called upon BJP Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul, at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to discuss crucial organizational, social, political, and developmental issues concerning the Ladakh region, with special emphasis on Kargil district.
The delegation comprised State Vice President BJP Ladakh Haji Anayat Ali, District President BJP Kargil Asadullah Munshi, and senior BJP leader Sofi Yousuf. During the detailed interaction, the delegation apprised Ashok Koul of various administrative challenges, public issues, and development-related concerns being faced by the people of Kargil. They highlighted the need for improved infrastructure, better connectivity, enhanced healthcare and education facilities, and effective implementation of welfare schemes in the remote and border areas of Ladakh.
The leaders also stressed the importance of organizational strengthening at the grassroots level, urging for capacity building of party cadres, expansion of the party’s outreach among youth and women, and closer coordination with the local administration to ensure timely redressal of public grievances.
A major demand raised during the meeting was the grant of district status to Sankoo, citing its geographical vastness, population needs, administrative convenience, and the requirement for faster development and efficient governance. The delegation emphasized that district status would significantly improve service delivery and bring governance closer to the people.
Addressing the delegation, Ashok Koul assured them that the BJP remains fully committed to the holistic development of Ladakh and Kargil. He stated that the party will discuss and strongly pursue genuine public demands, including the issue of Sankoo district, at appropriate forums. He emphasized the need for disciplined organization, people-centric politics, and constructive engagement with the administration to accelerate development and ensure good governance in the region.
