DODA: In a significant step towards ensuring the health and well-being of sanitation workers, the Block Medical Officer Ghat, under the District Health Society Doda, organized a one-day screening camp for HIV and Hepatitis B & C at the Town Hall Complex, Doda. The camp was part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada initiative and was aimed at safeguarding those who play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness across the district.
The event was spearheaded by BMO Ghat, Dr. Abdul Gafoor, under the close supervision of CMO Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, and in collaboration with GMC Doda and the Municipal Council Doda. The primary objective was to monitor and test sanitation workers for Hepatitis B & C and HIV, thereby preventing and controlling the transmission of these contagious diseases among the workers, who are regarded as the "Brand Ambassadors" of cleanliness in society.
Comprehensive health screenings were conducted for nearly 100 sanitation workers, including staff from the Municipal Council Doda. The dedicated team from the Department of Microbiology and ICTC GMC Doda ensured that all participants were tested and educated on the importance of maintaining their health and hygiene. The health staff also emphasized the significance of living a healthy lifestyle to continue their essential duties effectively.
The camp was marked by the presence of several dignitaries, including Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Doda, Mr. Ninad Sen, HOD Microbiology GMC Doda, Dr. Safia Khan, HOD Pathology GMC Doda, Dr. Sumat Khurshid, and other key officials. A Swachhta Pledge was also taken by all participants, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and motivating others to join this noble cause.
