SRINAGAR: Kashmir Women Cricket League 2024 Season II Ends on a High Note: A Celebration of Talent and Empowerment The Kashmir Women Cricket League 2024, organized by 31 Sub Area under the aegis of Chinar Corps, concluded today at the iconic Sher-I-Kashmir Cricket Stadium. The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri Tashi Rabstan, Hon'ble Chief Justice of J&K, the Guest of Honour, Shri RR Swain, DGP Jammu and Kashmir along with the host, GOC, 31 Sub Area. Adding to the excitement was presence of Indian cricket star Yuzvendra Chahal as a special guest.

The 8-day tournament featured 12 teams from across Kashmir, with 160 women cricketers showcasing their skills. The final match was an electrifying contest between Anantnag Rebels and Srinagar Knights, with Anantnag Rebels emerging as the champions of the Kashmir Women Cricket League 2024.          

Yuzvendra Chahal, encouraged the women players to continue pursuing their passion for cricket and to strive for excellence. Prizes worth ₹1,00,000 were distributed among teams and players for their outstanding performances.

The enthusiasm and talent displayed by these young women are truly inspiring and this league not only promotes sports but also empowers the women of Kashmir” said the Hon’ble Chief Justice of J & K. Shri RR Swain echoed this sentiment, stating, "The Kashmir Women Cricket League is a testament to the spirit and resilience of Kashmiri women. It is heartening to see such dedication and skill on the field.

GOC 31 Sub Area, highlighted the significance of the event, saying, "The Army is committed to fostering positive change and empowerment in the region. This league is a step towards providing a platform for women to shine and achieve their dreams."

The Kashmir Women Cricket League 2024 has set a new benchmark for women's cricket in the region, fostering a spirit of competition and sportsmanship among the young women of Kashmir. The Army, in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Ujala Cygnus chain of Hospitals, and Hope Alive NGO, remains dedicated to promoting women empowerment and a positive change in Kashmiri society.
