DODA: Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah made significant strides in healthcare by successfully performing five different laparoscopic surgeries this week. These procedures included three Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies, one Limberg Flap for Pilonidal Sinus and one Spermatocelectomy for Epididymal Spermatocele. The surgical team was led by Dr. Subash Sharma (Surgeon Specialist) and Dr. Azma (Anaesthetist), with assistance from the dedicated OT staff of SDH Bhaderwah.
The surgeries were conducted under the supervision of Block Medical Officer Bhaderwah, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf and the esteemed guidance of CMO Doda, Dr. Om Kumar. Both congratulated the surgery unit's staff for their achievements and expressed hope for similar groundbreaking surgeries in the future, aiming to reduce the need for external referrals.
The operative team extended gratitude to CMO and BMO for their moral and logistical support. They also acknowledged Administrative Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Rajeev Magotra for their inspiration to start advanced laparoscopic procedures, enhancing patient care.
SDH Bhaderwah has conducted dozens of different laparoscopic surgeries in the past 2-3 months. This progress has significantly benefited the local population, reducing the need for patients to travel to Doda, Jammu, or Srinagar for such procedures.
