UDHAMPUR: The Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing today organised a one day awareness camp cum-workshop here at village Gajad-Panchayat Lower Mada block Chenani to acquaint local Farmers, Cooperative Society members and youth about farm based livelihood schemes.
The participating farmers and stakeholders were encouraged to avail Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, Holistic Agriculture Development Programme and Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) to establish farm based enterprises.
Marketing Inspector, Abdul Kabir Wani imparted awareness on the PMFME scheme, explaining its huge scope for achieving self-reliance and creating job opportunities for others. Process of registration and documents required were explained in detail. Assistant Grading and Marketing Officer, Kamal Kishore deliberated on multiple opportunities available under HADP and JKCIP and process for availing the same.
Area Marketing Officer UdhampurâReasi, Sunil Singh motivated the participating farmers, SHGs, cooperative members to avail the Post-Harvest Management (PHM) schemes to enhance income by establishing processing units. Rajesh Gupta-President, Mahadev Patnitop Cooperative Marketing Society; Aslam and Bashir Ahmed- social workers and progressive farmer, Kuldeep Singh also shared their views.
