JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu in collaboration with J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society led by Mr Sudhir Sethi, a team from GMC Jammu led by Dr Rubina and its own medical team consisting of Dr Dhruv Gupta, Dr Deepika Sharma and paramedical staff organized a Blood Donation Camp at its Jagti Campus on 29th Jan 2026. The blood donation drive was inaugurated by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu in the presence of Dr. Ashish Kumar, Chairperson, Student Affairs, and Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran, Chief Administrative Officer.Also the blood donation camp was graced by Shri Rajat Jain, FA-CAO, Dr. Muqbil Burhan, Associate Professor, IIM Jammu, Shri Arup Bhattacharya, Chief Program Officer, Academics, IIM Jammu along with other faculty, officers, staff and students in large nos.
This initiative showcased IIM Jammu’s steadfast commitment to community service and social responsibility. The camp drew enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff, reaffirming the institute's ethos of fostering a culture of empathy and altruism. The camp in addition to collecting blood from record 102 blood donors also spread awareness about the critical role of blood donation in medical emergencies and treatment of certain diseases like thalassemia.
The camp concluded on a high note, with a significant number of units of blood collected, which will benefit patients in need across the region, particularly those battling conditions like thalassemia and other life-threatening illnesses. Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to this life-saving initiative, reinforcing IIM Jammu’s mission to create meaningful societal impact.
The event was coordinated by the Student Affairs Office and Kartavya Club at Sanjeevani Medical Centre at IIM Jammu, which played a pivotal role in ensuring seamless organization and execution. This initiative reflects IIM Jammu's dedication to promoting inclusivity, social responsibility, and sustainable practices, further cementing its position as a leading socially responsible institution.
