SHOPIAN & KULGAM: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to public service, J&K Police has been extending timely assistance to residents and commuters stranded due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions across Shopian and Kulgam districts.
Despite harsh conditions, police teams remained deployed on the ground and worked relentlessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the public. The assistance included evacuation of vehicles stuck in deep snow, facilitation of safe movement, on-the-spot help to vulnerable commuters, and clearance of hospital roads to ensure uninterrupted access for emergency medical services.
In Shopian, on receiving an urgent call from a COPD patient in need of oxygen, Police immediately arranged an oxygen cylinder from SDH Shopian and delivered it to the patient’s residence at Bon Bazar, Shopian. In another instance, police teams assisted in transporting a patient who was stranded due to heavy snowfall to the hospital, ensuring timely medical care.
In Kulgam, police today received a distress call that a pregnant lady residing in Rangtraji (Widkhud) Devsar has developed irresistible pain and needs immediate medical attention. Subsequently, a police party led by SHO PS Devsar rushed to the spot and evacuated the pregnant lady to PHC Devsar on foot for medical treatment.
Locals especially the family members of the said patient have applauded the efforts of J&K Police for prompt response and assistance in a crucial juncture.
Police once again appeals to the general public to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy snowfall, adhere to official advisories, and strictly follow safety protocols, assuring that the police remain committed to serving the community round the clock.
- Police assist woman & her newborn amid heavy snowfall in Kulgam
KULGAM: Police in Kulgam, in a display of prompt action, compassion, dedication and commitment to public service, responded to another distress call amidst incessant snowfall and slippery road in the region.
A distress call from Uppermunda, Qazigund was received for assistance, stating that one lady along with her new born baby were stuck on way at Chango Crossing and the family members were unable to take them to home at their own because of incessant snowfall and slippery road.
On the directions of SSP Kulgam Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS a team of police led by IC PP Jawahar Tunnel under the supervision of ASP NHW Qazigund, Kulgam Shri Mumtaz Ali Bhatti-JKPS was constituted and despite of adverse weather conditions, shifted the lady along with her new born baby on foot to their residential place at Uppermunda Gujjar basti, Qazigund safely, where the respectables especially family members of the said lady thanked SSP Kulgam for prompt action and assistance.
The timely intervention underscore J&K Police's unwavering dedication to serving the community, even in challenging circumstances. Police urges the public to exercise caution during severe weather conditions and to reach out in emergencies for assistance.
