Abhay Bakaya condemns authorities for inability to supply drinking water, electricity in TRT Nagrota, Jagti camps

• Says Relief & Rehabilitation Dept apparently seems ‘paralyzed’

JAMMU:Apni Party General Secretary Youth Wing, and Spokesperson, Abhay Bakaya has condemned the authorities for irregular clean drinking water supply and unscheduled power cuts at Jagti Camp and TRT Nagrota.

As per a press release, the migrant Kashmiri Pandits, inhabitants of these camps, have been holding continuous protests against the Jal Shakti Department and JPDCL for their inability to ensure the supply system of drinking water and electricity.

“The long unscheduled power cuts have affected the normal life in these camps of migrant Kashmiri Pandits as well as the water supply system has been collapsed with no option to supply water through the water tanks of the Jal Shakti Department,” he said, extending support to the protesters in these camps.

He said that it appears that the Relief and Rehabilitation Department is paralyzed to resolve the issues raised by the migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the above cited camps. “The Relief and Rehabilitation Department should have responded immediately by convening a meeting with the respective departments, and worked out the problem so that the camps could be supplied the drinking water as well as the uninterrupted electricity,” he added.

He warned that if the situation did not improve, the Apni Party would be compelled to join the protests, and the authorities would be responsible for the public response to their failure.
