- S. Manjit Singh welcomes announcement of Legislative Assembly elections in J&K
SAMBA: Apni Party has got a major boost in Samba District with the joining of Ex-Sarpanch Sukhjinder Singh Pola, Ex-Capt. Nanak Chand along with dozens of their supporters here at a meeting in Vijaypur. The joining program cum meeting was organized at Vijaypur in which the joining took place in presence of the Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh.
While welcoming them into the Party fold, S. Manjit Singh hoped that their joining would strengthen the Party at the grass root level. He said that their joining would boost the morale of the Party cadre, and it shows that the people have pinned their hopes with the Apni Partyâs policy of equitable development, harmony, and equality in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, he welcomed the announcement of much awaited Legislative Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The Former Minister said that the Election Commission of India has announced the elections in Jammu and Kashmir for its legislative assembly which were awaited after the dissolution of the erstwhile state several years back.
âThe people were in despair and there were little hopes even after repeated protests and appeals from the people of Jammu and Kashmir where the bureaucracy has demeaned all the democratic institutions,â he said, addressing a meeting at Vijaypur. He however expressed his gratitude to the Election Commission of India for taking up a positive step and announcing elections in Jammu and Kashmir that would provide a relief to the people.
âThe people would elect their own Govt in Jammu and Kashmir to address their long pending issues. Jammu as well as Kashmir are passing through a difficult phase of growing unemployment, involvement of non â locals in contracts/employment in the industrial sector, and a mafia system that needs to be curbed,â he added.
Meanwhile, he asked the party cadre to launch an aggressive election campaign in their respective constituencies, and educate people about the equitable developmental policy and welfare schemes of the Party that would be launched if the Party forms the next Govt in Jammu and Kashmir.
He reminded that the BJP and other regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir have exploited the people emotionally for their vote bank politics. âThe Apni Party is committed to bridge the gap, and bring the people together, and protect the rights of the people,â he added.
