POONCH: As part of the Public Outreach Programme aimed at improving citizen services, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Jammu, under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, today organised a three-day Mobile Passport Van Service Camp in the premises of the New Auditorium SKC Government Degree College Ground Poonch.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd. Sayeed and Additional Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal inaugurated this camp in the presence of Deputy Director Employment Abdul Majid Tantray, OSD, MEA Sunil Khar and other officers.
Interacting with media on this occasion, the ACR and OSD from RPO Jammu said that the camp has been organized for the residents of Poonch district who have booked an appointment through the official website â www.passportindia.gov.in. They further said that Applicants would be served as per the selected slot during the three day stay of the Passport Van service (November 12 to November 14, 2025).
The ACR and ASP expressed gratitude to the Regional Passport Office Jammu and the Ministry of External Affairs for organizing the Mobile Passport Van Service Camp in Poonch. They appealed to the people of district Poonch to take full advantage of the doorstep service. They said that such initiatives will bring government services closer to the people, especially those living in hilly and remote areas.
As per RPO Jammu, similar camps are being conducted in other districts of Jammu Province in the coming months to extend passport-related services to citizens residing in far-flung and remote areas. The Mobile Passport Van is fully equipped for biometric enrolment and on-site document verification, ensuring convenience and efficiency for applicants. This citizen-friendly initiative is expected to enhance accessibility, save time and make passport services more efficient for residents of remote areas.
