RAMBAN: In line with the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the District Industries Centre (DIC), Ramban, organized an awareness camp today at the Municipal Parking, Banihal, Ramban.

The purpose of the camp was to raise awareness about Strategic Investment Plans (SIP) for Jammu and Kashmir under Raising & Accelerating MSME Performances (RAMP) Programme and several other  schemes being implemented by the Industries & Commerce Department and District Industries Centre to promote entrepreneurship among local youth.

The event began with a welcome address by Project Manager Kuldeep Singh, who welcomed the participants. In his address, he emphasized the importance of the schemes aimed at encouraging the youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. He invited the entrepreneurs to register their units on portal www.udyamregistration.gov.in to formalize the MSMEs in the District.

The Project Manager sensitized the participants about procedure and uploading of application forms for availing different schemes, besides the benefits of enrollment with DIC.

The educated unemployed youth were told about the  financial assistance, subsidies they can get to start their own ventures under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in manufacturing and service sectors. Additionally, awareness regarding the PM Vishwakarma scheme was also imparted to the participants during the programme.
