KULGAM: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Frisal organized an Anti-Polythene Rally today to raise awareness about the harmful effects of polythene on the environment and human health. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff.

The rally was flagged-off by the Principal of the institution, Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah, who emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable alternatives to plastic usage. He applauded the students for their active involvement in environmental initiatives and encouraged them to act as ambassadors of change in their communities.

Tehsildar Frisal/Yaripora also joined the rally and appreciated the college initiative. The rally marched through the local market of Frisal, where the staff and students engaged with shopkeepers and local residents in explaining the side effects of using polythene bags. Students also carried eye-catching placards with slogans against polythene.

The event concluded with a collective pledge by all the participants to minimize the use of polythene and adopt environmentally sustainable alternatives in their daily lives.
