KATHUA: The NSS Unit of GDC Ramkote today organised a cleanliness drive at a natural water body (bowli) in its adopted village Ramkote. Held under the supervision of Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, the drive marked 79 years of Indian Independence and supported the Swachh Bharat mission. It aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving natural water bodies in view of climate change and sustainable development goals.
Students were sensitised to maintain cleanliness near water bodies, segregate waste before disposal and understand that waste around such sites can block drains and pollute potable water. The drive was organised by Prof. Anu Sharma, NSS PO and Prof. Vasundra Raje.
