AWANTIPORA: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, J&K Police have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and have seized 02 vehicles involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals.
Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora seized two tippers bearing registration numbers JK04B-z242, JK22-2845. The two persons involved in the said crime have been identified as Meheraj Ahmad & Mohammad Ashraf. Accordingly, a case vide FIR NO. 172/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding illegal mining activities in their neighbourhood. J&K Police assures complete anonymity and strict action against the violators as per law.
