BARAMULLA, GANDERBAL & PULWAMA: Continuing its special drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, J&K Police has seized 14 vehicles (Tippers) involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from different areas in Baramulla, Ganderbal & Pulwama.
In Baramulla, Police have seized two tippers loaded with illegally extracted river bed material (boulders) in the jurisdiction of Police Station Boniyar. During naka checking at Rampora, two tippers JK05G-6985 and JK01A-5800 were found carrying illegal river bed material without valid permission. Both vehicles were seized on the spot.
In Ganderbal, Police has seized 10 Tippers involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals from different areas falling under the jurisdiction of PS Ganderbal, PS Lar, PS Kheerbawani, & PP Nagbal. The vehicles were found transporting minerals without valid permission and were subsequently seized on the spot by concerned police teams in coordination with the Geology and Mining Department.
In Pulwama, J&K Police seized a JCB and a dumper with registration number JK13H-9886 found involved in the unlawful extraction of minerals and boulders at Gund Achan, Litter. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 95/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Litter, and investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police has reiterated its firm resolve to take strict action against those involved in such unlawful activities. The general public is once again advised to refrain from indulging in illegal mining and transportation of minerals. Strict legal action shall be taken against the violators.
