REASI: Municipal Council today carried out an enforcement drive against the use of single-use plastics in the town. A MC team, led by Executive Officer Mohammad Ajaz, recovered a fine of ₹7,000 from shopkeepers found violating the ban. The Pollution Control Department also extended its support to the Municipal Council during the drive.
The enforcement action was taken as part of the “Sewa Parv 2025” campaign aimed at promoting environmental protection, cleanliness and public awareness. Alongside the enforcement drive, cleanliness and sanitation activities were conducted across the district.
A special drive was carried out at the 1 CTU legacy waste site, while an awareness program under PM SVANidhiwas was organized at the bus stand to educate vendors about government schemes. Additionally, Door-to-Door awareness was conducted under PMAY 2.0 Angikaar initiative to sensitize citizens about the flagship housing scheme.
