RAJOURI: The 14th day of the ongoing Sewa Parv (September 17 – October 2, 2025) in Rajouri district was observed with an array of activities centered on cleanliness, awareness, environmental sustainability and cultural enrichment. The programmes were organised on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and under the close supervision of District Nodal Officer Sewa Parv Sandeep Sharma (DSEO).
The Animal Husbandry Department Rajouri carried out a cleanliness drive at SC Chowki Naushera and organised an awareness programme at Government Degree College (GDC) Thannamandi, sensitising students about schemes and services of the department.
At Government Degree College Nowshera, NSS volunteers spearheaded a campus cleanliness drive, focusing on the lawn and botanical garden. NSS Officer Dr. Mohd Zeeshan addressed the students, emphasising the importance of hygiene and environmental responsibility.
As part of the nationwide celebrations, a demonstration programme under ATMA in collaboration with the Central Silk Board (CSB), titled “Mera Resham Mera Abimaan”, was successfully organised at Sericulture Zone Dhangri. The programme began with a Swachhata pledge, followed by awareness sessions on sericulture schemes, silkworm rearing practices, mulberry plantation, cocoon subsidies and training opportunities under HADP, Silk Samagra-2 and DAKSH Portal. A plantation and cleanliness drive also formed part of the agenda. The event saw active participation from more than 35 farmers, including a significant number of women.
Meanwhile, Government Degree College Kotranka hosted a Book Review session on “My Experiments with Truth”, engaging students in reflective discussions on Gandhian philosophy and values.
At Government Post Graduate College Rajouri, two major eco-friendly initiatives were organised—a cleanliness drive in the Boys’ Hostels and a mega plantation drive in the campus. Led by Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza and coordinated by the Eco Club and Beautification Committee, nearly 200 saplings were planted, promoting sustainable green practices. The programmes concluded with a pledge by students and faculty to build a cleaner, greener campus. Plantation drives were also conducted at the ALC office in Rajouri.
The activities of Day 14 reflected the true essence of Sewa Parv—fostering cleanliness, awareness, selfless service and collective responsibility towards society and the environment.
